Colour blindness , Colourvision deficiency (CVD), is the inability to perceive differences between some of the colours that others can distinguish. 8% of Australian males and 0.5% of females suffer from some form of colour deficiency.
As a colour-blind sight centre we carry comprehensive colour vision testing equipment to properly diagnose colour deficiencies. Some industries such as Aviation, Rail transport and Maritime require the specific colour vision testing we have.
In the picture opposite individuals with red, green deficiency would be more likely to see the number 2 on the plate instead of 5.
The colour vision tests we have are:
Colorview lenses: Colour vision deficiencies (CVD) cannot be cured, but can be treated. Colorview lenses offer an effective treatment to enhance the lives of people with CVD. Years of research by the World Munsell Organisation and the high quality manufacturing process by the Seiko Epson Opitcal Company have culminated in the breakthrough technology of “Color View lenses”.
“ Color View ” lenses can enhance the lives of people with CVD. For example a cricketer with certain type of CVD would be able to see the red better against a green or grey background, a geologist distinguish colours better on their topographic map and a gardener better view different flowers.
